Concept: A compact, visually satisfying liquid animation that showcases the beauty and physics of fluid dynamics in product visualization. The piece transforms a simple liquid interaction into a mesmerizing visual moment — demonstrating how technical precision and artistic sensibility combine to create compelling CGI content.
1. Project Objectives:
Create a photorealistic liquid animation that demonstrates mastery of fluid simulation and dynamics.
Showcase ability to handle technically complex CGI elements: surface tension, viscosity, splashes, and fluid interaction with surfaces.
Deliver a visually satisfying, scroll-stopping short-form piece optimized for social platforms where immediate visual impact is critical.
2. Project Scope:
End-to-end production of a 9-second liquid animation: fluid simulation setup → 3D modeling → rendering → compositing → final delivery.
Deliverables: Master video optimized for social platforms (Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts).
Toolkit: Cinema 4D / Blender for modeling, fluid simulation tools (X-Particles / MantaFlow / RealFlow), Redshift for rendering, After Effects for compositing.
3. Content Planning:
Designed a focused liquid interaction sequence: pouring, splashing, flowing, or pooling — showcasing different aspects of fluid behavior.
Planned camera angles and timing to maximize visual satisfaction and ASMR-like appeal.
Defined the visual language: photorealistic materials, proper refraction and caustics, realistic lighting interaction with liquid surfaces.
4. Production:
Set up fluid simulation with accurate physical properties: viscosity, surface tension, density, and interaction forces.
Modeled product and environment geometry to interact with the liquid realistically.
Simulated multiple iterations to achieve the perfect balance of realism and visual appeal — controlling splash patterns, flow dynamics, and surface behavior.
Created PBR materials for liquid surfaces: proper IOR (index of refraction), transparency, specular highlights, and subsurface scattering.
Rendered in Redshift with caustics, accurate refraction, and volumetric effects for photorealistic liquid appearance.
5. Post-production:
Compositing in After Effects: integrating render passes (beauty, caustics, depth, refraction), enhancing liquid clarity and sparkle.
Color grading to achieve the desired mood — whether clean and refreshing, rich and luxurious, or dynamic and energetic.
Added subtle enhancements: droplet details, surface tension effects, and micro-bubbles for added realism.
Final mastering optimized for vertical and horizontal social media formats.
6. Results:
Delivered a technically impressive liquid animation that demonstrates advanced fluid simulation skills.
The piece works effectively as social media content — visually satisfying, scroll-stopping, and shareable.
Demonstrated ability to handle one of the most technically demanding aspects of CGI: realistic fluid dynamics — a valuable skill for beverage, cosmetics, automotive, and product visualization industries.
